Frasers Towers is an exclusive 38-storey Premium Grade A commercial development situated at the entrance to Singapore’s core Central Business District. As the epicentre of a mix of modern and traditional buildings, its sleek modern architecture stands tall amid heritage conservation shop houses and a national monument. The 235m-tall building features indoor and outdoor areas surrounded by lush greenery and a 3-storey cascading retail podium.
Frasers Tower is designed to promote sustainable urbanism; a design focused on the sustainable aspects of the built environment and well-being of users. The serrated glass and metal curtain wall of the office tower cascades down the wall of the tower and peels off from the body of the tower to create a large cantilevering canopy above the main office entrance.

Keeping the footprint of the buildings on the ground level to a minimum allows for the opportunity for the park to flourish. With the basement footprint pulled back from the park, trees are grown on true ground and will have sufficient soil depth to mature into large trees that will create an oasis within the densely populated CBD.

A 3-storey retail podium, continuing the retail street life of the surrounding context, occupies the site fronting Telok Ayer Street. The complete transparency of the fa?ade showcases movement on the fa?ade, projecting internal activities towards the street. This in turn stirs passer-by’s interest and draws them into the retail areas.

The central core provides an infrastructure spine that allows for flexible branching to individual tenants. Recent working trends has shown that co-working/co-sharing spaces are popular with the millennial working style. To emulate this trend, the spatial planning called for flexibility to provide for a variety of office subdivision, appealing to a wide spectrum of users from the larger multinational companies to the smaller start-ups.

From this remarkable vantage point, the tower soars from a rectangular base and flares outwards as it rises, accommodating larger floor plates at the lower portion of the tower, before tapering inwards towards the top as the core reduced. The tapering tower form also helps to distance the development from the neighboring buildings, setting it apart in the crowded context. With this elegant tapering, the tower offers an ever changing profile depending on one’s point of view.
